Solar PanelGreen energy like the usage of a Solar PV has been considered by countries around the globe due to global warming and the soaring of oil and energy prices. Solar power is included in green energy. Among these countries that use solar power, Germany has become the biggest user of solar energy by setting up numerous solar panel systems in the country.

In the 1970’s, several oil crises spread all through Europe, Germany included, and other people were continuously faced with the frequent rising of energy prices. The next two decades became a trying time for the German public with the Chernobyl nuclear disaster and its plethora of environmental problems. Obviously, Germany has got to do something with all these issues threatening their country and people.

In 1998, Germany’s Green Party created a coalition with the country’s Social Democratic Party. It was also around this time of the year that the Kyoto Protocol was made as proof of international efforts to protect against global warming. Under this protocol, Germany has assured to reduce their emissions by 21%. This marked the so-called green revolution in the country which is inevitably evident in the government’s investment in photovoltaic (PV) panels for harvesting solar power energy .

Their solar PV  installations started in the year 1991 initially looking to have many roofs with solar power systems. To make the project effective, the government made financial aid to those who would mount solar energy panels to their roofs. The project has successfully reached roughly 100,000 homes with solar panels mounted. It was became a success and was later discontinued in 2004.

The internet giant Google has even decided they would invest into one of Germany’s photovoltaic plants. The plant is created to provide clean and sustainable energy to a number of over 5000 households around the community. If everything’s set, this mission could be Google’s initial in Europe regarding green project campaigns.

As environmental consciousness is being continually made, more countries will hopefully follow suit. If you would like to learn more about green energy particularly solar energy, you can go to this solar panel website and see how you can help with making the planet a better place to live in.
